We started our Online Academy to meet the needs of families that want their students to engage in open-ended historical debate with content that teaches the values of Western Civilization. Each of our middle school and high school courses offers a discussion-based approach to history. Instead of being asked to memorize a list of facts, students encounter controversial questions and develop arguments that are based in evidence. Then, they meet online to debate and discover the best answer, together. Our method equips students to tell the difference between fact and opinion – a skill that will help them in far more than history. Our elementary school courses introduce young learners to history and gently guide them to grow in age-appropriate critical thinking skills. We are dedicated to promoting virtue by inspiring students to seek the truth in history.
