We are excited to announce a membership program for teachers and parents who love The Classical Historian approach to history. The Dolphin Society exists to encourage its members in their noble work as teachers of history, to rejoice with them in the privilege of training the young, and to equip them to be Masters of the art of history education.
Everything in The Dolphin Society is intentionally designed to fulfill one of our three foundational purposes:
To equip parents and teachers to be confident in their ability to lead students to understand, engage with, and love history. Continued personal training not only hones our knowledge and skills of history, it fosters habits of thinking and action that enable a teacher to better instruct and inspire young students. In an age of massive information overload, The Dolphin Society offers time-tested, needed support in history content and Socratic discussion.
To lighten the burden of a busy teacher or homeschooling parent by providing teaching resources for the study of history. Even if you know history and how to lead the Socratic discussion inside and out, having access to hundreds of resources for various grade levels in print, audio, and video makes teaching simpler. The Dolphin Society makes it easier to meet and go beyond changing standards and requirements all teachers of history face.
To provide fellowship for all teachers, parents, and budding historians who wish to know and teach history in the best way. Learning and teaching history requires a community for discussion and fellowship. Historical perspectives and learning styles can be as numerous as there are individuals. The Dolphin Society members form a community that inspires, educates, and edifies each other.
