Elementary Level
Online Courses

Scroll down to enroll.
Our Elementary Grade Online Courses are designed for children in grades 3-5 and are gentle introductions to history. During class, our teacher leads the students through virtual tours of historical sites, and in reading the lessons and explaining the most important people and events. Students interact with the teacher, building vocabulary and understanding. Homework is given as optional assignments to build on the interactive lessons. Along with the main text, students also play the Classical Historian Collect the Cards Game, eventually memorizing 3 facts for 48 important historical people, dates, and events.

Curriculum:
Dr. Hirsch founded the Core Knowledge Institute with this idea in mind: knowledge builds on knowledge. The more you know, the more you are able to learn. Dr. Hirsch realized that the American teacher of the 1800s taught their students the same, basic knowledge with the intent of nurturing young Americans to build a strong Republic founded on the Judeo-Christian, Greco-Roman principles expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Core Knowledge curriculum is age-appropriate, interesting, and comprehensive. Our once a week course is an excellent introduction to history.
